After I wrote last night’s post I was on the couch watching tv and I fell asleep. Next thing I know its 3 am and I’m wide awake and couldn’t fall back asleep so I decided it was time to get up. I got my day started with finished the Adam dishcloth I started last night and then started and finished a second Adam dishcloth using the same ball of yarn. I grabbed a Super Sized ball of Lily Sugar ‘n Cream in the Sunkissed color. I’m not sure how old the ball of yarn is because it still has the website on the ball band instead of the website. The 2 dishcloths took up about 68 grams of yarn from the 85 gram ball of yarn. I then spent the rest of the day knitting on my fingering weight hat that uses the Opal Smokey Eyes and Coloured Lips yarn. When I finished the hat I didn’t realize it had some of the same colors as the dishcloths I knitted today. I love how the hat turned out and it fits my head perfectly. I used the Yarnology needles that I purchased at Hobby Lobby for the hat. I liked the needles themself but hated the cord and join. I’ll talk about all these items in more details in the next episode of Smells Like Yarn.

Dishcloths and Hat

It was a strange feeling not going to work today and I hope this doesn’t continue for very long. It was also strange not having any car racing to watch on tv. I ended up watching a couple of movies on Amazon Prime Video. I watched Naked Gun 33-1/3 and Hot Shots! They are both classic 90’s movies I remember watching when I was younger. I also spent a good chunk of time watching the news today to keep up to date with what’s going on with all the virus stuff. The numbers are really starting to jump here in Wisconsin. Just a couple of days ago it was in the single digits and last I knew tonight it was up to 27. So far there’s been no positive tests close to me but I’m sure its going to be a matter of time before its here. I’m already practicing my social distancing. Friends went out for brunch today and I stayed home. With my medical stuff I already have going on I don’t need to add more to my plate.

It’s late and I’m going to get to sleep now.

  1. I think that the hat colors are great! I am glad you are taking care of yourself. I have some sugar and cream cotton on the cone that older. I noticed when I was using my dishcloths that I made years ago they would fade pretty quickly. Have you had this happen?
(I have an Etsy store and blog, no website)

    1. Yes I have had my dishcloths fade as they’ve been used and washed. The good thing is they still are great at cleaning dishes. 🙂
