Wallace is my first dishcloth pattern I am releasing. It’s a pretty simple pattern that only requires you to know how to knit and purl. It’s great for someone that is just learning to knit. This pattern uses your standard dishcloth cotton yarn that comes in a wide variety of colors. A solid color will show off the stitch pattern but it can also be knitted with a variegated will also work but you won’t see as much of the stitch patter. I knitted the sample below using Lily Sugar ‘n Cream in the Rickrack Ombre color.

The dishcloth is approximately 8″ x 8″ if you knit it using worsted weight yarn and US 8 (5 mm) needles. If you want to make the dishcloth larger or smaller you can do so by increasing your how many times your repeat and how many stitches you cast on. You’ll want to add or subtract stitches in multiples of 4 if you are going to make is smaller or larger.
I hope you enjoy the pattern and I can’t wait to see your finished dishcloths over on instagram. Tag your finished dishcloths #smellslikeyarn.
