I have a bunch of patterns that I’ve knit and never gotten around to putting here on my website. I need to get better at doing that and I think a lot of these projects I am going to post my notes in a blog post. These are not finalized, polished pattern pdfs that you can download. They are just my notes in a blog post. Pretty much this is what I put together for myself to knit these projects. There might be details missing about yarn to use or explanation of stitches but if you knit I’m guessing you can figure it out. If not you can always send me an email and I can try to answer your question.

The first project in this collection of patterns is this little knit basketweave tote bag. I plan on releasing this as a pattern in the future with some more polishing of the pattern and small changes I want to make to size and starting of the baseketweave body. Until that happens I still wanted to get this rough pattern out to anyone wanting to knit this for themselves.
For this project I used some #4 medium weight yarn. I had a ball of Herrschners Worsted 8 Specks in the color Pink Punch in my yarn room so I used that along with a US 8 16″ circular knitting needle.

Here is what I came up with for the pattern to knit this little bag:
Cast on 64
Round 1-5: Knit
Round 6: (K8, K2tog, BO 12 (put remaining stitch back on left needle) K2tog, K8) repeat ()
Round 7: (K9, CO 14, K9) repeat ()
Round 8-12: Knit
Basketweave:
Round 1-4: K2, (P5, K3) repeat from () to last 6 sts, P5, K1
Round 5: (K1, SSK, YO, K3, YO, K2tog) repeat from ()
Round 6: Knit
Rounds 7-10: P3, (K3, P5) repeat from () to last 5 sts, K3, P2
Round 11: K2, (YO, K2tog, K1, SSK, YO, K3) repeat from () to last 6 sts, YO, K2tog, K1, SSK, YO, K1
Round 12: Knit
Repeat rounds 1-12 to desired length
Put right sides together and do a 3 needle bind off to finish bag
